Local Public Health Institute of MA

Transition News & Updates

Submitted by the Local Public Health Institute of MA (LPHI)

Over the course of this year, the Local Public Health Institute will be undergoing significant changes
These changes promise enhanced opportunities for you, and we're here to guide you through the
transition.
1. LPHI Relocation to Massachusetts Department of Public Health
As of April 1st, 2024, LPHI is being integrated within the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This
strategic move will facilitate even more seamless collaboration with public health professionals.

2. The Trainings will be offered on TRAIN
In tandem with our integration, all LPHI training courses will soon be available on the TRAIN platform,
which will be managed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This transition will allow us
to better streamline course access and ensure our participants have a cohesive learning experience. Stay
tuned for more information on how to access your courses on TRAIN.

3. BU-LPHI Website Sunset on April 1, 2024
Please take note that the BU-LPHI website will no longer be accessible as of April 1, 2024. It is essential
to make this a priority, as all future access to course materials and resources will be exclusively through
the TRAIN platform.

4. Important: Secure Your Transcripts
While we are dedicated to making this transition as smooth as possible, we highly recommend that you
download and securely file all your LPHI transcripts for any future reference. This proactive step will
ensure that your professional achievements remain easily accessible to you.

5. Foundations Course: Start Now for Timely Completion
For individuals planning to enroll in the Foundations course, we encourage you to get started promptly.
This comprehensive course typically takes six months to complete. By beginning now, you'll be on track
to finish with ample time and gain the essential knowledge and skills necessary for your public health
journey.

We are committed to ensuring that this transition brings new and improved opportunities for all our
learners. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to serving you within the
Massachusetts Department of Public Health's educational ecosystem.
